We started Identity Atelier because we saw an opportunity to do better for our industry, for our clients, and for our employees.

Our Story
Welcome to Identity Atelier! Our hair salon is women-owned and led by founders and fellow stylists, Megan Schmidt and Autumn Queen. The mission at Identity Atelier is very clear. We wish to continuously raise the standard of excellence in our industry by being the leading hair salon in Columbus, Ohio, by providing exceptional experiences for our clients that allow them to feel great about themselves.
With our team of valued and highly educated professionals, we deliver a level of customer service unlike any other. Using the most innovative products and techniques, we foster a fun and intimate salon environment for everyone who comes into our creative space. At Identity Atelier, our hair salon is built to create, learn, lead, and bring happiness to each other and our clients.

Salon Owner | New Talent Trainer | Stylist
I really enjoy doing hair because I love making people feel good about themselves. And becoming an owner allows me to create a space where we can foster that feeling on a greater level and expand that ripple effect. What I love about this career and industry is that it's always changing, and there are always new things to learn. Behind the chair, I love to do balayage. And haircuts are one of my specialties, from short to long. I love them all. Outside of the salon, I love to spend time with my kids, traveling the world, shopping til I drop, and going out to eat. Even though I love to cook, I'm guilty of not always feeling like doing the dishes!
Megan Schmidt
Salon Owner | New Talent Trainer | Stylist
As an owner of Identity Atelier, I'm excited to have the opportunity to take our industry to the next level. Providing opportunities on both a personal and professional level. As a stylist, I love curly hair and hair with lots of movement and texture. I also love playing with color. Blondes, brunettes, and redheads. I love creating dimension in the hair with highlights, lowlights, balayage, and fingerprinting. You name it, I love it! I'm passionate about our community and having a local business that brings confidence to others is an absolute dream of mine. When I'm not in the salon, I love nothing more than hanging out with my husband, two kids, and our dog. I love to read (when I have time), good reality shows every now and then, and game nights with friends! I'm a big fan of warm weather, so when I travel, I'm usually rooting for a beach vaca!

My love of being a hairstylist started when I was young! I was known by my friends as the go-to girl growing up for all hair needs! Being part of the stylist community allows me to share my creativity in a fun way. I love interacting with our clients and making new friends out of this passion of mine. Working at Identity Atelier has allowed me to learn and grow in an environment that I am excited to walk into every day. It has been an absolute dream to join this team! Beyond my hair passion, I'm into music, movies, tv, and books; and could talk about them for hours. I have a stupid amount of little factoids rumbling in my brain and usually have a little knowledge on many topics so if you love trivia, I'm your lady! And probably my favorite way to spend my time outside of work is going to local Columbus restaurants. Specifically tacos. I love tacos.
